The funding is split into: Half as a low-interest loan (3% interest rate, 5-10 year repayment term) Half as a grant that doesn't need to be repaid once you complete your loan payments ELIGIBILITY Must be a Long Island homeowner Property must be your primary residence (1-4 unit buildings eligible) Household income at or below 120% of the area median income Property location must be eligible under program guidelines Homeowner must be current on their mortgage and taxes WHAT IMPROVEMENTS ARE COVERED? 50% of the loan/grant proceeds must be used for resiliency measures that will fortify the home to protect against future flood and storm damage. Additional eligible improvements include: Storm protection and weather resilience upgrades Energy efficiency improvements Home electrification projects Climate-ready home systems Improvements must be to the main structure of your home These improvements benefit all homeowners while also helping seniors age safely in their current homes.
