CDLI only administers part of the program for application, processing, and underwriting under the following guidelines established by the Town. Loan amount up to 3% of the home’s purchase price to be applied toward the down payment of the recipient’s purchase of an owner occupied, residential property located within the Town of Southampton. Zero percent (0%) interest and payable at the sale of the home or refinance transaction. Purchase Price not to exceed $1,665,600. Eligibility Criteria: Be a First-Time Homebuyer . Defined by Southampton Town Code §140-40 as an eligible individual who has not owned a primary residential property and is not married to a person that has owned a residential property during the three year period prior to his or her purchase of the primary residential property, and who does not own a vacation or investment home. Be an Eligible Individual . Defined as a household income that does not exceed 100% of the income limits as established by the State of New York Mortgage Agency low interest rate loan program in non-target categories for Suffolk County in effect on the contract date for the sale of such property. (see the chart that follows). Purchase Community Housing. Defined as a primary residential property for an eligible individual that does not exceed 150% of the purchase price limits established by the State of New York Mortgage Agency (currently, a maximum purchase price of $1,665,600). Attend a mortgage counseling session. Given by The Community Development Corporation of Long Island (CDLI) which is a HUD certified not-for-profit housing agency and submit proof of attendance (a certificate of completion). Have NOT entered into a Contract of Sale to purchase a home prior to being issued a Purchaser Certificate by the Southampton Town Department of Housing and Community Development. The recipient(s) of a certificate has (have) 180 days to submit a fully executed Contract of Sale to the Town of Southampton. To reverse decades of damaging nitrogen pollution of ground and surface waters on Long Island, this new loan from CDLI is made available to assist with the cost of replacing outdated and failing septic systems with state-of-the-art nitrogen-reducing systems or a lesser-cost hybrid system. CDLI will make its low-interest loan available if the homeowner is in need of additional funds to cover the costs of installing the new system. Loan application fees and closing costs do apply to this product. Loan amounts cannot exceed $10,000. Available for homeowners anywhere on Long Island, near water, or further away in the center. Primarily, those homeowners who do not qualify for the Suffolk County program for Septic Replacement System. This loan product is not available for homeowners who are looking to replace a conventional cesspool with another conventional cesspool system. 000abd6e-07eb-44c4-990b-9b1a604e23f7 Home How We Can Help Details Housing Choice Voucher About Housing Choice Voucher Program for Tenants The Housing Choice Voucher program (often referred to as Section 8) assists families and individuals to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. The participant is free to choose any housing that meets the requirements of the program, including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments, and is not limited to units located in subsidized housing projects. Once the tenant and landlord sign a lease, the tenant's family typically contributes 30%-40% of their income towards rent and utilities, and the HCV program pays the remainder directly to the landlord. CDLI is the Local Administrator for the New York State Homes & Community Renewal (HCR) Housing Choice Voucher program for Nassau and Suffolk Counties, the Town of Hempstead, the Village of Sea Cliff, and select project-based voucher buildings in Brooklyn. For all programs, CDLI oversees tenant eligibility, lease-up, annual recertification, and Housing Quality Standards inspections of all units. CDLI is committed to knowledgeable customer service and program administration for all its tenants and landlords on behalf of all its partner organizations. The voucher size issued by CDLI can differ from the voucher size issued by the initiating Housing Authority as it is based on our guidelines.
